No posts for a while.

I have been so busy lately, that I seem to forget my blogs. The only time I get for scrapping is at Jules's classes. I still have no Layouts finished :o(

For the next two months I am completely booked up with cakes, so I have no idea when I will find time to scrap, maybe in December lol. I will definately get back in to it, as I have been taking some awesome photos.

WP August sketch challenge.

This is my entry in the Wicked Princesses August sketch challenge.

You can see Kirsty's fab sketch here.

And this is my entry.

These photos were taken at the 12 Apostles, off the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. It was just beautiful, but way too cold for me at 5 degrees, my hands were blue.

I really love this colour combo.

Thanks for looking,
Kat

Baby shower invites.

I made these invites last month for a friends baby shower, and today made some matching cupcakes, and remembered to get the camera out.

I used Kaisercraft Peek-a-boo PP's.

The little book was a last minute addition. A little book for all the ladies at the baby shower, to write their guesses, as to the due date, sex, weight and length of the baby. Also to write some parenting advice to the Mum-to-be.

Krissy's sketch

As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought of balls, so when Adam got home from work we took Harrison outside and took some photos of him playing soccer. This is what I came up with. I am very happy with how it came together.

I used Kaisercraft Squadron PP's, Bazzill CS & American Crafts thickers.

Lynnie has also ran a couple of games of Bingo, and I won one of the games too =)

Friday night Lynnie sprung a third challenge on us =)

Mother's Day Card

The lovely Krissy let me scraplift one of her card designs.

I bought the papers in a card making pack from Wicked Princesses back in April, to make some Easter cards, but ended up running out of time.
I drew the flower and bracket shape by hand, and cut them out, inked the edges, and the flowers, and stuck it all together.

Passionate Scrappers Competition Week 4 Challenge

Week 4's challenge over @ A Passion for Craft was set by the lovely Krissy!

The criteria were.

You have to use your Bo Bunny paper

The Bella alphas
2 brads
2 buttons
2 flowers

and this sketch.
I flipped the sketch to suit the photos better.
The Bo Bunny PP, was the orange, brown, rust and white one, I fussy cut around the details, and used some mounting tape to add dimension. I used Ancient page ink to colour the alphas, then covered then in "glossy accents" to make them stand out and be shiny. I used "AdornIt" alphas for the subtitle. I added some Bazzill CS, and some left over brown PP, and flowers.

I really like how it turned out!

April's Scrap Sunday w/ Jules

Once a month, on a Sunday I go to a scrap class that Jules teaches. most of the time, I don't get my LO's finished, as I like to go slow, and sometimes haven't picked photos, or can't think of a title etc. So I never blog about them till ages later.

I had a bit of spare time yesterday, so I thought I would pull them out of hibernation, and work on some.

This double page is one of my favourites, I just love the bright colours of it, and it was easy to pick photos aswell.

I used Kaszazz "My Boy" PP's, sticker alphas and some chipboard brackets.

There is alot more to come from this class, but I am nowhere near finished them.

April Sketch Challenge @ Allcraftz

This was my take on the sketch for April over @ Allcraftz.

I used various PP's, Bazzill CS, AC Thickers, Adorn it alphas, Felt stripping, Assorted flowers, stickers & inks. I also used a Kaiser Craft Car Album as a stencil for my car shape.

Thanks for looking,

Kat

Passionate Scrappers Competition Week 3 Challenge

Week 2's challenge was set by the lovely Zany for A Passion for Craft.

The criteria were:

To use - Paper Inkling Teen Queen Paper and The Kaiser Rhinestones from our packs.

And the LO had to include a photo of a teenager, and some stamping.

This week I think the competition really stepped up a notch in terms of hardness. The PP was something I just really would not normally use. And the photo of a teenager was a hard one too, as I a) don't know any female teenagers, and b) didn't have any photos of me as a teenager. I ended up pulling out my photos I had stashed away, and luckily I found this one, it is of me and my at the time bestest friends Tracey & Joanne. It was at Joanne's Debut, and we were all 16.

I added to the pack, Bazzill CS, AC Thickers, Ribbon, Assorted flowers, a button, HS stamps & Versa Colour inks.

I am quite happy with the end result, and also happy that my LO was completely different to everybody else.

Passionate Scrappers Competition Week 2 Challenge

Week 2's challenge was set by the lovely Krissy for A Passion for Craft.

The criteria were:

To use this sketch as inspiration. http://apassionforcraftgallery.com/displayimage.php?album=35&pos=0

and to use the following from our packs.

Paper trunk ravishing pp
3 buttons
3 flowers
1 journal card

I did my LO about my Nanna & Harrison. Although technically she is Harrison's Great Nanna, we have named her Grand Nanna, as we thought it sounded nicer : )

I used Scrapbook Walls - Persian floral & Chateau Stripe PP's, Bazzill CS, American Crafts Thickers, assorted flowers, buttons & photo corners.

Thanks for looking,

Kat

Passionate Scrappers Competition Week 1

I have entered an 8 week challenge over at the A Passion For Craft forum.

It cost me $20 to enter, and I received a pack of goodies to use throughout the 8 weeks.

Each week we are given a challenge to complete, this week we had to use (from the pack) 5 journal blocks & the Bella patterned paper. Also the journal blocks had to be journalled on. The other criteria was that the LO had to be about someone we love.

I chose my gorgeous niece Tayla, who I love & miss like crazy, as she lives over in WA. These photos were taken last year in September while we were on holidays.

All of the LO's entered were to be emailed to APFC's mighty leader Lynnie, and they were posted in the gallery anonymously, so that voting was fair. Also we are only allowed to blog our entries once that weeks winner has been announced.

The Design Team at the forum all vote, and everyone who entered can vote too, then the points are tallied up to get a weekly winner. Also there is a lucky draw each week to win 10% off their next order at the shop. At the end of the 8 weeks, the person with the highest number of votes wins a prize.

Anyway, this week, I received the highest amount of votes. Woohoo!!!!! I am excited!

What a mess!

Hi everyone,

Ok, I will fill you in on what happened here tonight.

Picture this, I am on the computer, Adam is in the other study at the other end of the house. Harrison is wandering around in between. I had just put a home-made pizza in the oven, and hadn't cleaned up the ingredients, as I was about to make another one.

Ok so anyway, I noticed DS was quiet, so thought I had better investigate. I didn't have to go far, as the kitchen is the next room from where I was. There was DS sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor.

See picture for details.

I yelled out "OH NO!" a few times, and DH comes running. Next minute DH is yelling "OH SH*T!" "Is he dead?" as all he had seen was red stuff and DS's feet.

So then I did what all good (Scrapbooking) Mum's would have done, and grabbed the camera.

Adam then gave Harrison a bath, and I had to clean up the pizza sauce that had managed to make its way all up the kitchen benches, and all over the floor :(

AP4C March Sketch Challenge.

I had a little bit of spare time today, so I thought I would enter the Sketch Challenge over at A Passion For Craft.

This months sketch was designed by Krissy, one of the Design Team members there.
Krissy's sketch

My take on the sketch.

I am so happy with how this turned out. I love how bright & colourful it is. I have been wanting to use these papers for a long time, but was waiting for the right LO.

I used Fancy Pants PP, Bazzill CS, assorted alphas & flowers.

I used 2 techniques that I haven't used before, one was sponge inking (edges of LO), and the other was sanding (edges of large photo).

Mama Mia Retreat

These are the pages I completed at Jules's retreat. I attended the Friday night class, and all day Sunday.
Daddy's Boy is a double page LO, designed by Krissy, I loved these papers by "3 bugs in a rug" called "Snips & Snails" they were just gorgeous, and just what I needed to show off my fave photos of Adam & Harrison.

I did another 2 double pages, but have been slack and haven't got them finished, I will update with photos once they are completed.

Follow the Leader - 1

This was my entry for the 1st CIS Follow the Leader challenge. Basically its a blind scrap, where one person gives you a list of ingredients, then a list of instructions.

I had fun with this challenge, there is no actual prize, but whoever is voted as having the fave LO, gets to be the Leader for the next challlenge.

And guess what? Its me, lol. I just hope the girls are happy with what I lead them with!

Welcome to my Scrap Blog!

I was thinking today, that my Cupcake blog, was staring to get over-run. So I thought, why not start a new blog, just to show off my Scrap LO's, cards etc. I have also started entering alot of online Scrap challenges, and they like you to advertise their websites / blogs etc.

I will slowly start deleting my scrap posts over at Confessionsofacupcakeaddict, and re-posting them over here. I will backdate them all so they are in the correct order!

Oh, and by the way, I love comments, so please feel free to leave some for me. I'd love to know what you think good or bad, or what you think I could improve on :)

Ok thats it for now, take care,
Kat

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!

I won the January Challenge over at Live to Scrap! It's the first real challenge I have won. I'm so excited! I can't wait to collect my goodies!

This is the link to the pages I did. http://katsscrapmesenseless.blogspot.com/2009/02/january-cc-live-to-scrap.html

I have started my entries for the Feb challenge, but I am nowhere near finished yet, and only have 2 days left to complete them!

This Friday night & all day Sunday, I will be going to a scrapbooking retreat over at Jule's house. I am so excited. As soon, as I have finished the LO's I will post them up here for everyone to see.

Feb Challenge @ Allcraftz.

This was the challenge over at Allcraftz!

I must say, that this was the hardest scrapping I have ever done. Those who know me, will tell you I hate to follow rules.

The lovely ~E~ sent out packs of Making Memories paper samples, all about 2 x 1.5" in size, and we had to create the following. Using the clues below. Each clue could only be used once.
1. 12"x12" layout
2. greeting card
3. ATC set of 3
Clue 1: Back To Front- this clue applies to the picture you use. It must show the BACK of something- for example, instead of seeing a bright smiling face, we might see a fantastic hair do!
Clue 2: Not centimetres- this clue we had some great guesses on... it is indeed inchies. You must use at least 5 of your sample paper pieces on one creation as inchies.
Clue 3: Floor Covering- this one is all about matting. Matting is what many of us do to put a border around a pic, etc- all you do is put some card/paper/etc behind the pic with a small amount showing all around. You must have 3 items on your creations (on any piece, or on all of them) that show matting.
Clue 4: Colour In Disguise- again, good guessing. This one is for Black and White- but not your photo... you must use black and white embellishments somewhere, with colour from papers peeking out under them. The embellishments can be buttons, flowers, brads, etc and must partially cover some of the paper sample pieces that are coloured.
Clue 5: I thought I saw some writing?- you probably thought straight away "hidden journaling" and you would have been close- except it is writing, but not as journaling, and it isn't hidden... it's your title. You must include a title containing 1 word only, with more than 5 letters in that word- and it must end in a question mark (?).

So for my 12x12 LO. Using clue # 1 & 5.

My greeting card. Using clue # 2 & 3

And finally my set of 3 ATC's. Using clue # 4.

There will be 4 prizes awarded, one for each of the three pieces made, and an overall prize.
